Mark Birchall is our first chef in the 2022/23 series of Lord’s Dining Club, starting this autumn on Tuesday 15 November 2022.
Mark Birchall is Chef Patron of two Michelin-starred Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms in West Lancashire. Moor Hall was named the UK’s Best Restaurant at The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards in 2019 and retained the title at the 2021 awards.
In 2009, he won the Roux Scholarship and worked at the three-time Michelin-starred Catalan restaurant El Cellar de Can Roca, run by the Roca brothers in Girona, Spain, and twice named as the world’s best restaurant.
Niall Keating is the guest chef for the second Lord’s Dining Club event on Tuesday 13 December 2022.
A prodigy in the food industry, Niall Keating had two Michelin stars to his name by the age of 30. He was named the European Young Chef of the Year in 2018 and won BBC’s Great British Menu Champion of Champions in 2020.
He has worked at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants and received his first Michelin star with The Dining Room at Whatley Manor in Wiltshire just eight months after it opened. His first restaurant, Lunar, opened in 2021 in his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent.
Tommy Banks is our final chef of the autumn/winter Lord’s Dining Club series hosting on Wednesday 29 March 2023. Tommy is our first returning chef having already led the kitchen in 2019.
Tommy Banks is Chef Director of Yorkshire-based Michelin-starred restaurants The Black Swan, Oldstead, and Roots, York. Both restaurants are supplied, almost exclusively, by produce on or around the Banks family's farm in Oldstead, on which The Black Swan is based. Tommy’s commitment to sustainability was recognised with a Michelin Green Star in 2021, the same year that Roots earned its Michelin star.
In addition to the restaurants Tommy and team also run a nationwide delivery business, Made in Oldstead and premium canned wine business Banks Brothers. He was named Restaurateur of the Year at the Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards 2021 and was also announced as Head Chef of our very own Edrich Restaurant which opened at Lord’s last year
